14 DAY TRIAL // Official ISO images for Windows 10 build 18272 are no longer available for download, as Microsoft has removed them in anticipation of the December 14 expiration date.
The software giant has recently announced that the original Windows 10 19H1 builds would expire in mid-December, and given the ISO images allowed the installation of build 18272, this particular version would be impacted as well.
As a result, it no longer makes sense for anyone to clean-install this build, so the ISO images have been removed from Microsoft’s Windows Insider page.
However, no other ISOs have been released in the meantime, which means that now you only have to update your system from Windows Update or build your own ISO for the latest version. The most recent Windows 10 19H1 build is version 18290 and is available right now on Windows Update.
No other ISOs up for grabs now
What’s important to know is that the ISO release approach has changed for 19H1, at least temporarily.
Previously, Microsoft published new ISO images when builds reached the Slow ring, as this was the moment the software giant considered them to be stable and reliable enough for more insiders.
But once the company started work on 19H1, this plan has changed, more or less forced by the Windows 10 version 1809 fiasco. Because Microsoft needs to conduct more internal testing for the October update, the Slow ring keeps getting Windows 10 version 1809 builds and cumulative updates, whereas the Fast ring receives 19H1 builds.
At this point, there’s no ETA as to when this could change, but we’re expecting a Windows 10 19H1 build to land in the Slow ring when Microsoft completes the testing of version 1809. This should happen in the coming weeks or months, especially as work on 19H1 advances towards the spring 2019 expected release date.
