14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has made it a hobby to poke fun at Apple in Surface Pro 4 ads and today the company rolled out two new videos to put the Cupertino-based company in a bad light.
Two new ads posted online today are based on the same idea as previous clips and attempt to convince viewers that the Surface Pro 4 is a better option in terms of productivity and entertainment thanks to various features that are highlighted in a rather comical way.
This time, Microsoft is putting emphasis on the detachable keyboard and the touchscreen which allows users to perform certain activities that are impossible for the moment on Apple’s MacBook.
“We’ve gone country, but the Surface Pro 4 is at home anywhere with its powerful Intel processor, detachable keyboard, pen, and touch,” the video description of one of the videos reads. “You can’t stop singing it now, can you? With its ♫ detachable keyboard ♫, pen, and touch screen, Surface Pro 4 is the smoothest choice,” the other one adds.
New MacBooks on their way
These videos are clearly funny and show that the Surface Pro 4 is a much more capable device than Apple’s MacBook Air, but some are actually questioning Microsoft’s decision to promote its own product by making fun of competition and not by actually talking about features of the Surface lineup in detail.
For the moment, these ads seem to be rather successful and the majority of users enjoy them, but it’ll be interesting to see how Apple responds.
Although Apple rarely posts videos to compare its products with Microsoft’s, Cupertino is expected to launch new MacBook devices later this year with new features that could bring them closer to the Surface series. At the same time, Microsoft is also likely to introduce new Surface models in spring 2017, including the Surface Pro 5 and the second-generation Surface Book, again with a long list of improvements.
