Both the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book are now up for grabs, and in order to convince as many existing Surface owners as possible to upgrade to these new models, Microsoft is offering a new trade-in program that includes huge payments.

Right now, if you want to give up on your old Surface tablet, Microsoft can pay you back up to $700 (€610), and if you choose to purchase a new Surface Pro 4, you get an extra $100 (€85).

“Bring your Surface to your nearest Microsoft store and get up to $700 toward the purchase of a new Surface. You can score an extra $100 value when you trade up to a Surface Pro 4. If you prefer, you can trade-in your Surface online by visiting our Surface trade-in page. Act now, this offer ends 11/7/2015,” Microsoft says in the official description of the trade-in program.

The newer the Surface, the bigger the payout

Needless to say, it all depends on the Surface model you wish to trade and its condition. The biggest payout is being offered for the top-of-the-range Surface Pro 3 with an Intel Core i7 processor, so the newer and more expensive the device, the bigger the amount of money you get in return.

The very same trade-in program also includes some other special offers, so, for example, should you decide to give up on games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Madden NFL 25 and Grand Theft Auto, you can also get an important payout for new purchases. Other non-Microsoft devices are also accepted, such as Apple iPads and iPhones, Android tablets and phones, desktops, tablets and laptops from makers such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

The campaign is only available in the United States and Canada, and there’s no word right now on whether the company plans to expand it to other markets as well anytime soon.
