Outlook isn’t just Microsoft’s top email app, but it is also one of the most-used email clients in the entire world regardless of platform.

Available on both desktop and mobile, Microsoft Outlook receives updates regularly, and one of the most recent packs of improvements includes support for Samsung’s smartwatches.

In other words, the latest Outlook for Android brings the email app right to your wrist, so you should be able to check your messages without the need for a phone.

Microsoft Outlook works on the entire Galaxy Watch series, which means that it should be available for the Galaxy Watch Active model as well.

In addition to the typical notifications that you get when a new email lands in your inbox, Outlook lets Samsung Galaxy Watch owners to also choose from a pre-defined set of responses to quickly reply a message. Or as SamMobile notes, you can even use the on-screen keyboard to type a custom response if needed.

The Outlook push

Microsoft bringing the Outlook app to the Galaxy Watch isn’t necessarily surprising, as the software giant has been trying to expand its apps to as many devices as possible for several months already.

In fact, this is part of Microsoft’s new strategy of becoming more committed to mobile, especially because the company no longer has a platform of its own to invest in.

More recently, Microsoft announced Surface Duo, a new device powered by Android. By embracing Android, Microsoft is expected to continue improving its app offering on this platform, while at the same time delivering timely updates for all devices that can work with Android, including smartwatches like the ones built by Samsung.

In the meantime, Microsoft Outlook keeps getting further polishing on all platforms, so expect the email app to continue receiving updates for the Galaxy Watch as well in the coming releases.
