New version brings option to ignore email conversations

Microsoft is finally updating Outlook for iOS, which right now is one of the top email clients on iPhone, with a feature that everybody expected: an option to silent email conversations.

As many people learned the hard way, company-wide emails that turn into conversations are obviously useful, but at the same time they’re also super-annoying. And when there are tens of contacts, or even hundreds, including in the conversation, emails keep coming and coming and coming.

And there’s not much you can do about it, other than just ignore the whole thing, which is kind of frustrating especially if you’re in a meeting or doing anything else.

New version of Outlook for iOS

Fortunately, Microsoft has updated the Outlook email client for iOS with a feature to ignore the group conversations with just a few taps right in the main screen. This new feature is available in Outlook for iOS version 4.36.0, which is available right now in the App Store.

“Sick of that company-wide email that everyone is still replying all to? So are we. Stay focused on what's important by getting it and all future replies out of your inbox and straight into deleted items with our new Ignore Conversation feature,” Microsoft says.

What’s important to know is that this option doesn’t only mute conversations, but actually ignores them entirely, meaning that new replies no longer make their ways to your inbox, but are deleted automatically and sent to the deleted items folder.

While this comes in handy to some, it’s critical to know that you may be missing some emails if you enable the feature.

So at the end of the day, use this feature to get rid of all the unnecessary emails that keep coming to your inbox as part of the conversation or just silent your phone to have everything muted.
