It was advertised as “upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile”

The release of Windows 10 Mobile has raised more questions than praises from Windows Phone users, as Microsoft removed quite a few smartphones from the list of compatible devices.

We reported a few days ago about the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320, which won’t be getting Windows 10 Mobile. According to Microsoft, the decision was based on the feedback received from Windows Insiders who installed Windows 10 Mobile preview builds.

Aside from Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320, Microsoft also denied the update to Lumia Icon users, though the Redmond-based company backtracked and stated that it’s considering the release of Windows 10 Mobile for this particular update.

None of the older Windows Phones with 512MB RAM will receive Windows 10 Mobile update and the same goes for the BLU Win Jr LTE, which is a rather new smartphone.

On top of that, Microsoft and BLU advertised the smartphone as “upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile when available.” Unfortunately, it looks like BLU can’t keep its promise since Microsoft won’t release Windows 10 Mobile for this particular handset.

Microsoft now claims the smartphone will stay on Windows Phone 8.1

BLU Win Jr LTE was on the list of Windows 10 Mobile compatible devices, but recently Microsoft decided that this smartphone can’t provide a suitable experience after updated to the latest version of Windows Phone.

According to Reddit user Plazma10, the BLU Win Jr LTE was still advertised as upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile until he started a thread that highlights the fact that Microsoft did not offer the update along with the other smartphones that got it earlier this week.

After the thread on Reddit got upvoted, Microsoft decided to silently remove the “upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile when available” tagline from the BLU Win Jr LTE page on its online store.

So, if you own the BLU Win Jr LTE, which is not even 1 year old, then you should look for alternatives if you really want to run Windows 10 Mobile since Microsoft won’t provide you with the update.
