14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has released a new Office Insider update on iOS, as the company starts testing new features ahead of the public rollout later this month.
Now at version 2.18 for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, this latest Office insider update is a preview of the October 2018 feature update, and it includes three different new features.
First and foremost, there’s a new option to insert and edit icons in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Beginning with this update, Microsoft allows customers to “use icons to add visual impact to your document by inserting and editing one or more of our 500 icons.”
If you’re using PowerPoint, there’s more for you in this update. Microsoft has added new printing options, and you can configure exactly what you want to print, including slides with notes, multiple slides on a page, and full-page slides.
And last but not least, there are goodies for Outlook. You can now search for a shared calendar from Outlook and open it right on the iPhone.
Microsoft Office for iOS
Microsoft rolls out updates for Office on iOS every month as part of the Office Insider program, and this allows the company o remain committed to mobile devices regardless of the platform.
With Office Mobile apps going away on Windows, Microsoft wants to concentrate entirely on Android and iOS, and these monthly improvements obviously play a key role. The software giant has already expressed its intention to bring the mobile apps in line with their desktop siblings, so major feature updates would be released in the coming updates.
