Microsoft’s refreshed Surface Book is now available at an even lower price, as the software giant has decided to cut the price of the base configuration in the United States.

If you want to get the Surface Book 2 right now, the cheapest version is now available for just $1,149, down from the original price of $1,199.

Of course, the price difference isn’t necessarily huge, but given this is a permanent price drop and not a temporary discount, it’s clear that Microsoft wants to provide more value for the money to its customers.

As for what you get for this price, the base Surface Book 2 configuration comes with a 13.5-inch display and is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor paired with 8GB RAM. You also get 128GB of storage.

Top-of-the-range model costs $3,099

For many customers, this particular setup is exactly the one they need for basic activities like browsing the web, staying in touch with friends, sending and receiving emails, or watching videos. And thanks to the detachable screen, they also get the tablet mode, which comes in even handier at certain times.

On the other hand, those who want a bit more power from their Surface Book 2 can purchase the more capable configuration that tops at no less than $3,099. While this is quite an expensive device, you get a 15-inch screen with an Intel Core i7 processor, dedicated NVIDIA graphics, 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage.

Needless to say, the Surface Book 2 remains one premium device that customers love. Microsoft is believed to be working on a third-generation model already, possibly to be introduced sometime this year, and it could bring improvements not only under the hood, but also in terms of design.

For now, the Surface Book 2 is quite a smart choice for Windows 10 users who want premium quality at a decent price, so have a look at the Microsoft Store offering to check out the available configurations.
