Microsoft has already launched Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL in some countries, but major markets like the United States will have to wait a few more days for these smartphones to go on sale.

In fact, AT&T is already selling the Lumia 950 in the United States for a few days now. But if you want the unlocked version or the Lumia 950 XL, then you will have to wait until November 25 when both smartphones are supposed to hit shelves at Microsoft Store.

Still, Microsoft Store US sold the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL a few times without really informing customers that the handsets are available for purchase.

Those who purchased the smartphones probably checked to see what version of Windows 10 Mobile the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were running, so they probably know that Microsoft included build 10586 inside the devices.

On the other hand, Windows Insiders in Fast and Slow rings can download and install a newer version of Windows 10 Mobile, which is not available for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL owners.

The latest Windows 10 Mobile preview builds brings lots of bug fixes

According to Microsoft, neither Lumia 950 nor Lumia 950 XL features support for Windows Insider program, which means they don't have access to newest Windows 10 Mobile builds.

Microsoft's Gabe Aul has confirmed that the company's flagship smartphones don't support Windows 10 Mobile 10 preview builds yet.

He also said that Microsoft needed to get some support in place for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL so that owners could enroll to Windows Insider program and install the latest Windows 10 Mobile builds.

Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.11 brings lots of bug fixes and general improvements, so Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL might want to install this version as soon as their phones receive support for preview builds.

Unfortunately, there's no way to tell exactly when Windows Insider support for these smartphones will be enabled, so stay tuned for more on this one.
