Microsoft Lumia 640 is again available at a very low price in the United States, which makes it quite the perfect buy if you’re looking for a device that would flawlessly run Windows 10 Mobile.

Both Best Buy and Walmart are selling the Lumia 640 for just $29.99 (€27.5), which is one of the lowest prices available for the handset since its launch. This is the same price that was rolled out on Black Friday 2015, so the chances are that it’ll never go any lower than that.

Before anything, it’s worth mentioning that while the Lumia 640 comes without a contract, it’s locked in AT&T’s network, so you need to unlock it to connect to a different carrier.

Why buy a Lumia 640?

In case you can’t decide whether purchasing a Lumia 640 is worth it or not, let us lend you a hand. The Lumia 640 brings excellent value for the money, features pretty good specs for $30, and is one of the best choices when it comes to Windows Phone.

The device sports a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM. It also features 8GB of storage and microSD card support, as well as an 8-megapixel camera.

One of the main reasons for buying a Lumia 640 is the fact that it’s expected to be one of the first devices to receive the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile, as Microsoft previously hinted that both the standard and the XL models would be included in the first wave.

It’s not yet known whether the plan is the same right now, but for the moment, Lumia 640 runs Windows 10 Mobile preview builds quite smoothly (especially the 10586.107 build, which is described by many as production-ready).

At this point, it’s not yet known whether this price will remain unchanged or whether both Best Buy and Walmart plan to keep it until they clear out inventories.
