Microsoft announced earlier this month its first smartphones powered by Windows 10 Mobile and promised to bring them on the market as soon as possible.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are expected to arrive sometime in November, but the Lumia 550 might not be available on the market until December at the earliest.

The high-end smartphones have already been made available for pre-order in a few European countries, but the Lumia 550 was a hard-to-come-by handset until most recently.

Even though the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL seem like solid alternatives for those looking for a high-end smartphone, we believe the Lumia 550 will sell much better since it's the most affordable of the three.

Windows Phone fans should ready their wallets since the Lumia 550 has just been listed by Amazon France, WindowsBlogItalia reports.

A shipping date hasn't been announced yet

Customers can now pre-order the smartphone for just €130 ($145), but a shipping date has yet to be confirmed by the online retailer.

We expect more resellers to start taking Lumia 550 pre-orders in the next couple of days, but Microsoft Stores all over Europe should make it available too.

The Lumia 550 is an entry-level smartphone that comes with a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot.

Also, Microsoft's Windows 10-powered handset sports a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

On the back, the smartphone packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera.

Microsoft Lumia 550 is powered by a 2,100 mAh battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS support.
