Both the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book laptop also come with 1TB of storage space, but the availability of these versions has so far been quite limited, and only buyers in the United States and Canada have been allowed to purchase them through the official channels.

Today, however, Microsoft has announced that both the SP4 and the Surface Book with 1TB of storage space are going on sale in 10 additional markets, as it works to make the devices available to more buyers.

The countries getting the new models are the following: Australia, Austria, China, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. They will be available both online and at authorized resellers starting today, the company says. Germany and Japan will be added to the list in the coming days.

Super expensive devices

Additionally, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands will only receive the 1TB Surface Pro 4, and although Microsoft hasn’t said anything about its intention to launch the Surface Book as well in these markets, there are certainly plans to do that in the coming months.

“1TB of SSD storage can be invaluable, giving these power users the peace of mind they want and need, that they can store everything on their device without sacrificing weight, performance and speed, or aesthetics,” Microsoft details, trying to explain that photographers, engineers, designers, and researchers need as much storage as possible.

Both the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book are great devices, and the 1TB of storage space makes them even more helpful, but be ready to spend quite a fortune if you want this top-of-the-line configuration.

The Surface Book, for example, costs more than $3,000 in the United States if you choose the 1TB storage version, and pricing in Europe will vary depending on taxes, so you should check at the closest retailer or at Microsoft’s online store to see pricing.
