Microsoft Support now includes mobile services too

Microsoft has recently updated its Microsoft Support site with several new communities that are related to the company’s mobile services.

Before you ask, no, this has nothing to do with Windows 10 Mobile or the return of Windows phones by any means. And it’s all because the new Microsoft Support section is just supposed to provide users with official support for Redmond’s mobile services.

After the death of Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft’s mobile strategy pretty much came down to services and apps offered to users on Android and iPhone.

And while the software giant is now working on the Surface Duo, the company’s very first Android phone that will come with a dual-screen form factor, the new support section is all about apps and services. So what you’ll find in there are communities for Microsoft Office, Outlook, OneNote, To Do, Your Phone, Microsoft Launcher, and OneDrive.

No Edge community

Interestingly enough, there’s a dedicated category for Microsoft Office, as well as separate communities for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. On the other hand, what’s odd is that there’s no section dedicated to Microsoft Edge, despite the browser already being offered on Android and iPhone.

Vishnu Nath, Partner Director of PM Microsoft Mobile, announced the new site on Twitter, explaining that the purpose of the service isn’t only to provide help, but also learning resources.

Microsoft’s Surface Duo is expected to launch sometime this month, according to people familiar with the matter, and there’s a chance it would also be included on the support site. Duo was officially announced in late 2019 with a holiday of 2020 ETA, but at this point, it looks like the development of the device advanced pretty fast and now Microsoft to bring it to the market as soon as possible.
