Kaizala is a productivity app developed by Microsoft Garage for Android and iOS, but starting today, Windows 10 users can download it on both PCs and smartphones.

In essence a secure chat and productivity solution, Kaizala is the project of Microsoft Garage, Redmond’s group responsible for creating experimental apps that do not necessarily rely on Windows devices.

On Windows 10, however, Kaizala is available with a preview tag, which means that the Microsoft Garage is still working on new features that could be added in future updates.

The company says that, in order to use the app, all you need is a 2G Internet connection and a smartphone running Windows 10 Mobile, so you won’t be able to install it on Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

Same features as on Android and iOS

Although it has a preview tag, Kaizala brings on Windows 10 the same features as on Android and iOS, namely announcement support to make announcements and share updates, job assigning to people and track completion status, invite features, photo with location, quick polls, sharing and requesting location, and surveys.

“With Kaizala Preview, you can have 1:1 chat with individuals, group chat with your teams, and even add groups to your existing groups to communicate within large organizations or communities,” Microsoft explains.

“In these chats or groups, you can not only send messages, but also send Kaizala Actions like Job, Poll, Survey to individuals or to the entire group. People can easily respond to Kaizala Actions, and all responses are consolidated, stored and presented for easy viewing and decision making.”

Kaizala is obviously available free of charge and seeing Microsoft bringing it on Windows 10 devices is certainly good news, especially because phones are supported as well. For what it’s worth, the app was launched on Android exactly one year ago, while iPhones got it in July 2016.
