Microsoft keeps working on refining the experience with its Android launcher, and this is something that makes total sense given the app is installed on the Surface Duo as the default experience.

This weekend, the software giant has released a new update for the Microsoft Launcher, and this time, only minor improvements are included, though they’re obviously welcome for everyone.

The new release brings the version number to 6.2.200706.8987, and according to the official changelog, what you’re getting is an update for the app icons and the fonts that are used by Microsoft launcher.

There are also improvements for the app folder layout and the gesture support, as well as additional refinements for the performance of the launcher.

Microsoft says a series of other known bugs are getting fixed too in this update, but no further specifics have been provided in this regard.

Microsoft Launcher for Android

Microsoft Launcher has become a must-have tool for the typical Microsoft user on Android, as it offers deep integration of services launched by the Redmond-based software giant on mobile platforms.

For example, one of the features that I use the most is the Sticky Notes support. On Windows 10, I use Sticky Notes on a daily basis to save very important quick notes and links, so with Microsoft Launcher installed on my Samsung Galaxy Note20, I can take all this content with me on the go.

At the same time, Microsoft Launcher also features the customization features that make an Android launcher worth trying, including support for third-party icon packs. In other words, you can further customize the look of the launcher by downloading other icon packs from the Google Play Store and then enabling them in Microsoft Launcher just like you’d do in Nova, for example.
