This is the time to go hunt bugs in Windows 11

Microsoft has officially started the March 2022 Bug Bash for Windows 11, as per the original schedule announced by the company when it rolled out the previous preview build in the Windows Insider program.

The purpose of the bug bash is obviously to allow users to find glitches in the operating system and report them to Microsoft, so that the company can fix them in time before a new production update is rolled out to users out there.

The bug bash kicks off today and ends on March 22.

Microsoft says this new Bug Bash is specifically focused on the latest Windows 11 preview build, and if you’re part of the program, you certainly know there’s a lot that needs to be tested.

One week of bug hunting

This is because Microsoft has implemented a lot of great new features in the most recent Windows 11 preview builds, so the Bug Bash is supposed to help the company make sure all of these work exactly as they are expected to work.

“From March 16th to March 22nd, we will be having a Bug Bash covering our latest Insider Preview builds – keep an eye on the Feedback Hub under the Announcements section where we will be posting more details closer to the date. Insiders who participate in the Bug Bash by completing Quests and filing feedback during this time will be awarded a Bug Bash badge in Feedback Hub,” Microsoft explains.

In case you’re wondering when the next Windows 11 update is supposed to go live for production devices, this is something that’s yet to be officially announced.

However, some of the improvements that Microsoft has been testing lately could go live for all Windows 11 users as part of the quality updates shipped monthly. For example, the search highlights, a feature that was part of Windows 11 build 22572, is very likely to launch for everybody next month unless a major problem is discovered. It will also launch on Windows 10 devices.
