Microsoft launched the new Surface lineup at the October 6 event in New York, and the company’s already expecting increasing sales of its devices ahead of the holiday season, most likely following the response it has received after this unveiling.

And according to Digitimes, the company is so optimistic that the Surface Pro 4 and the Book will sell well that it has already increased orders at manufacturers by as much as 60 percent.

Microsoft now expects to sell 500,000 units in the fourth quarter, up from the initial estimate of 300,000 units, which the company says is only possible thanks to the arrival of new models such as the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book.

The Surface Pro 4

Microsoft is very optimistic about Surface Pro 4 sales because the device is expected to continue the success of its predecessor, bringing powerful hardware, support for the Surface Pen, and the possibility of configuring your own device using the processor, storage, and amount of RAM that you want.

The Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch PixelSense touchscreen display and weighs only 786 grams, which makes it one of the lightest 2-in-1 devices on the market.

A Surface pen is also included in the package, which makes it quite the perfect companion for drawing and writing, so the Surface Pro 4 can easily be used as a replacement for traditional notebooks.

As far as hardware is concerned, there’s a choice of two different processors, Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7, and between 128 GB and 512 GB of storage space. The device can be equipped with 4 GB, 8 GB, or 16 GB of RAM, with the last being the most expensive. Pricing for the Surface Pro 4 reaches $2,190 (€1,850) in the United States but could be slightly different in other markets, depending on local taxes.
