Microsoft has just released a new update for the iOS version of Outlook that adds synchronization of draft folders between devices running the app.

First and foremost, some context. Outlook for iOS is one of the most popular email apps on iPhone, and in many cases, it’s considered the only advanced alternative to the Mail app that Apple itself is offered on iOS.

With millions of downloads on the App Store, Outlook for iOS keeps evolving, and Microsoft rolls out new features every once in a while, especially as its email service evolves too.

With version 2.87.0. Outlook for iOS brings support for synchronization of draft folders between Outlook on the phone, computer, and Outlook on the web for Office 365 and Outlook.com.

Writing an email from any device

While at first glance this doesn’t seem such a significant update, it’s quite a super helpful feature. With draft folder synchronization, Outlook allows users to start composing an email on one device and then continue on another, with all the content moved between phones and PCs all automatically.

The effort that Microsoft puts into improving Outlook on iOS is rapidly paying off, as the application is among the leading choices in the email client category. Outlook has an overall rating of 4.7 out of a maximum 5 points, with no less than 622 ratings currently posted by users.

Outlook, however, isn’t an application that Microsoft designed from scratch, but a rebranded version of an email client previously known as Accompli. Yet, Microsoft deserves the praise for improving Outlook to make it a more advanced app on all platforms, and updates like the one today show that the company is very committed to delivering further improvements.

You can download the new Outlook for iOS from the App Store using this link, and the same improvements are projected to land on the other platforms very soon too.
