New update released by Microsoft for OneDrive on iOS

Microsoft has just released a new update for OneDrive on iOS that brings some improvements for the signature iPhone 6s and 6s Plus 3D Touch feature.

Currently at version 7.1 on iOS, OneDrive now features a new visual style on iPhones and iPads, which Microsoft describes in the official change log as a “slightly new coat of paint.” For the moment, you can’t go back to the previous visual style, so if you liked the one before more, you’re out of luck.

But what’s more important for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus users is the Peek and Pop support that allows them to preview the contents of any folder stored in the cloud.

The way this feature works is quite simple. All you have to do is to open the OneDrive app, and hard press any folder in your account to enable 3D Touch. The app automatically offers a preview of what’s inside the folder, thus letting you see the content without necessarily opening it.

Shake to send feedback

Previously, 3D Touch support was also offered in OneDrive, but only for the app’s icon, providing instant access to the most recent documents stored in the cloud straight from the home screen. But with this new feature, OneDrive makes better use of the 3D Touch feature.

And last but not least, since feedback is an essential part of the “new” Microsoft, the company is also offering an easy way to submit bugs to the development team.

“Constantly getting signed out or having any other problems? Shake your device and let us know. This requires a consumer account to be signed in,” Microsoft says. So it’s enough to simply shake your iPhone when browsing your OneDrive account to open the feedback submission form and send a bug or any other problem that you experience to the dev team.

The app update has been published today in the store, so if you haven’t received it just yet, make sure you have a look in the store to manually force the update.
