Microsoft hopes everybody would eventually end up running Windows 11, but the company is well aware that for some companies, moving to the new operating system is quite a challenge.

And it doesn’t always come down to hardware, as the software side of the migration is a critical component as well.

Microsoft is well aware that some enterprises might push back the transition to Windows 11 due to app compatibility concerns, so the company recently posted a reminder to tell the world the new OS version should handle the majority of apps correctly.

The rollout is in the final stage

And even if it doesn’t, Microsoft has a program called App Assure that connects customers with its engineers in an attempt to fix the compatibility problems they encounter after the switch to Windows 11.

“Whether you are a large enterprise or a small business, App Assure can provide application compatibility assistance and help you feel confident upgrading your devices to Windows 11. As part of Microsoft’s commitment to app compatibility, the goal is that all of your apps simply work after the upgrade to Windows 11, with no changes required. If you do encounter a compatibility issue on Windows 11, though, App Assure engineers will work with you to help resolve the issue in addition to working with engineering teams to find and fix the root cause. The best part, there is no cost to use this program!” Microsoft says.

Microsoft plans to complete the Windows 11 rollout by the summer of this year, and the company recently announced the process entered the final stages.

In other words, the eligible computers that haven’t yet received the upgrade to Windows 11 should see the new operating system in Windows Update rather sooner than later, and this is also one of the reasons the company is now trying to deal with all these app compatibility concerns.
