Microsoft promised it would release an important update for its Groove Music application for Windows 10 Mobile, which isn't quite on par with similar apps on other mobile platforms.

The new update should upgrade the application to version 3.6.1573.0. So if you have a previous iteration, then you should check for an update in Windows Store.

The new version of Groove Music comes with lots of new features and improvements, especially for Continuum function.

For example, developers have updated the layout of the artist gallery to have proper spacing, alignment and remove the color-matched square backgrounds.

Another Continuum-related improvement is the addition of the Explore modules to the Artist Details page at larger resolutions. However, this new feature requires Groove Music Pass.

Other general updates include the option to swipe from the left to bring up the hamburger menu. This will make it easier for music lovers to use the application with a single hand.

Users can also press and hold to re-order tracks within a playlist. Also, songs and albums in the user's collection now sort by the date they were added by default. However, you will still be able to switch to sorting alphabetically (or by artist in the case of albums).

Furthermore, Groove Music now shows download progress in the title bar and also provides an entry point to the download manager from within the left nav menu. This particular change should align with what the Movies & TV app includes.

In countries where Cortana is supported, users can tell her to “Play Electronic,” and the personal digital assistant will shuffle all electronic music for them.

The font size of the song title in Now Playing has been reduced to the size in the previous versions of the application.

Another welcome new improvement is the fact that the application will pop a notification asking users if they would like to remove automatically a duplicate song that's available in both OneDrive and Music Pass.

Keep in mind that the new update is pushed to all Windows 10 Mobile compatible devices, so you should check out Windows Store for the new version of Groove Music.
