Although Microsoft plans to launch its new high-end smartphones, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, worldwide, they will not be available at the same time in all countries.

The Redmond-based company plans to introduce the Windows 10 Mobile handsets in as many countries as possible beginning next month.

Windows Phone fans in India were led to believe that Microsoft might launch the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL in their country just in time for the Diwali 2015 shopping season, which starts on November 11 and lasts for 5 days until November 15.

Unfortunately, NPU reports that the same sources that confirmed the previous information about the availability of Lumia 950/950 XL around Diwali are now backtracking on that statement.

According to unnamed sources, Microsoft had to do some changes and its high-end Windows 10 Mobile handsets won't be launched on the Indian market until later November.

Windows Phone fans will have to wait a few more weeks

An exact release date hasn't been offered yet, but it's almost certain that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL won't arrive in India until the end of next month.

Dummies for both smartphones already arrived in India earlier this week, which suggests that Microsoft changed its mind about the launch of these handsets in the country at the last moment.

While there are no details on pricing options for these Windows 10 Mobile high-end smartphones, there's a high-chance that Microsoft will price the Lumia 950 at around Rs 38,000 ($585 / €530) outright.

On the other hand, Microsoft's flagship smartphone, Lumia 950 XL should be available in India for around Rs 43,000 ($660 / €600).

We expect more details on Lumia 950/950 XL availability and price to emerge in the next couple of weeks, and who knows, maybe Microsoft will change its mind again and the smartphones will be introduced in early November, as previously rumored.
