It still requires Insiders to go back to Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft released a new Windows 10 Mobile build last week, but Insiders are required to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 in order to flash the new version of the mobile platform.

Not many new features have been implemented in build 10549, but Microsoft addressed lots of issues present on the previous builds and also added a wide range of improvements.

Today, Microsoft's Gabriel Aul initiated a poll asking Windows Insiders if they would like to test another Windows 10 Mobile build the company's engineers have put together in the last couple of days.

According to Aul, the new build contains the same bug affecting previous Windows 10 Mobile version 10549, which means Windows Insiders are still required to go back to Windows Phone 8.1.

On a positive note, the new build 10572 should contain new features, lots of fixes and improved battery among other things.

More than 75% of Windows Insiders wish to try out the new build

The poll initiated by Gabriel Aul was much in favor of releasing the new build, so it will take several hours for Microsoft to make it available for download to Fast ring.

In the same piece of news, Microsoft confirmed that the bug requiring Windows Insiders to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 in order to flash the new Windows 10 Mobile build has been addressed in a future version of the OS.

Apparently, it will take a few more days for Microsoft to send build 10575, which contains the fix for the issue mentioned earlier, to its rings.

This is the reason the Redmond-based company decided to release another intermediary build, which should keep Windows Insiders busy until next week when build 10575 should be released to Fast ring, if nothing wrong happens.

If you're a Windows Insider that opted for Fast ring, then you should expect the new Windows 10 Mobile build 10572 to arrive in the next 24 hours.
