With Windows 10 Mobile just around the corner, many fans are anxious to upgrade their older Windows Phone 8.1 handsets to the new version of the operating system.

For the time being, there are only two smartphones that come with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box: Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

Both are now available for pre-order in many countries, and while some lucky customers will get their devices this week, many will have to wait until early December to receive their high-end Lumia smartphones.

We reported a few days ago that Microsoft recently put a spotlight on the dedicated Windows 10 Mobile website, which offers details about the new features the mobile platform includes.

There are quite a few screenshots, GIFs, and videos that show the improvements, and how these new features work on the new Lumia devices Microsoft has just launched.

Keep your info private with Windows Hello

Among the many new features that Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have to offer, Windows Hello is one of the most exciting.

With Windows Hello, users will be able to unlock their smartphones with their iris. The handsets can recognize your face and iris and thus unlock your phone if the result is accurate.

Simply select Start button, then choose Settings, Accounts, Sign-in options to set up Windows Hello on your Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL smartphone.

As spotted by NPU, these won't be the only smartphones to feature Windows Hello for too long. Microsoft has confirmed that more Lumia handset with this feature will be available in the not-so-distant future.

“The Lumia 950 and 950 XL are ready to use Windows Hello now, and more devices that have iris recognition are coming soon,” says Microsoft.

It remains to be seen when the next Windows Hello-enabled smartphones will be announced by Microsoft and what they will have to offer regarding the specs.
