Previous rumors claimed the devices, codenamed Cityman and Talkman, might be officially introduced in late September, while the latest hearsay suggested the smartphones should be announced on October 10.

However, the folks over at WindowsCentral have just confirmed that Microsoft has started to send invitations for a launch event scheduled for October 6.

According to this invitation, Microsoft has “some exciting news to share about Windows 10 devices,” which doesn't leave much room for speculation.

More info on Windows 10 Mobile release is expected as well

There's also a chance that Microsoft might introduce the highly anticipated Surface Pro 4 tablet during the event, and we're also expecting some news about Windows 10 Mobile release.
