Microsoft has decided to change the name of the Lumia Help + Tips apps to Lumia Highlights, in an effort to give the app a welcome refresh that could make it a bit more appealing to those with a Windows phone.

Basically, the Help + Tips apps was supposed to be the number one destination for those who got a new Lumia, providing them with tips, tutorials, and information on how to make the most of their device. Furthermore, it included access to a collection of news, so Microsoft wanted this app to become an essential tool for everyone with a Lumia handset.

That never happened, though, so the company is once again trying to give it a refresh, this time with a completely new name and logo. An update released for Lumia Help + Tips today changes its name to Lumia Highlights, although no new features seem to be included.

With this new design, which, by the way, also includes a hamburger menu, Microsoft brings the application in line with the other Windows Phone apps that have gotten refreshed lately, so the company is aiming for a more consistent experience across the operating system.

Bigger problems to address

But without a doubt, seeing an app that’s used by only a bunch of people getting an overhaul is not such a big deal for the Windows Phone community, as there are other and bigger problems to address before anything else.

Windows phones are quickly losing ground, and recent statistics have shown that market share dropped to no less than 0.7 percent. Microsoft itself is turning to decisions that put Windows 10 Mobile’s future in doubt, laying off thousands of people from its Mobile unit.

On the other hand, Redmond claims that Windows 10 Mobile still has a future in its vision and promises that more good things will come, including what people seem to believe could be a Surface Phone due in spring 2017.
