We reported earlier today about a new lineup of Lumia smartphones that was expected to be unveiled by Microsoft in the coming months.

Specs for no less than three unannounced Lumia smartphones leaked today: Lumia 550, Lumia 750 and Lumia 850. All three were supposed to be unveiled with Microsoft's flagship smartphones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

However, WindowsCentral reports that all three smartphones, which were leaked by @evleaks back in June as Honjo, Saana and Guilin, have been canned by Microsoft.

The only other Lumia smartphone that hasn't been canceled by Microsoft is codenamed Saimaa and it's said to be a Lumia 6xx successor. However, even though this mid-range Windows Phone is still on track for release, Microsoft might have moved its launch to 2016.

While the information provided in our previous report that contained the full specs of Lumia 550, Lumia 750 and Lumia 850 might have been accurate, these devices will no longer be released.

The decision to cut down the upcoming lineup of Lumia devices to just two smartphones might have been taken after Satya Nadella's recent statements regarding the future of Windows Phone.

We could say that Microsoft's need to streamline its smartphone business produced the first victims since these Lumia devices are now no longer on track for release.

It's just flagship smartphones for H2 2015

That being said, Microsoft is left with just two flagship smartphones for the second half of 2015: Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

These two smartphones are expected to be unveiled in early September at IFA 2015 trade fair, but they won't be available on the market right away.

The first to go on sale will be Lumia 950, also known as Talkman, while the Lumia 950 XL (Cityman) will be available a few weeks later.

It's also worth mentioning that they are slated for an October / November release on the market, but more details will likely be unveiled at IFA 2015.
