The highly anticipated feature is making its way to Macs

Microsoft has recently announced that the Undo Send feature is making its way to Mac devices, with the company now making it available for insiders before starting the broad availability to everybody out there.

What Undo Send does is as simple as possible. The feature allows users to configure a specific delay which will be used to allow them to cancel the sending of a new mail just in case they discovered something that may need to be modified.

Obviously, it doesn’t do any magic, as its only purpose is to delay the sending and provide the user with an extra window of time to resolve a potential error.

“We’ve all had the very human experience of hitting the Send button on an email a tad bit too hastily—sending out a message that has typos, missing attachments, incorrect recipients, or… worse. No need to panic! Outlook for Mac has your back. You can now use the Undo Send command to cancel a message before it’s sent, giving you more control and confidence over your communications,” Microsoft announced.

Needless to say, Outlook isn’t the only app with such capabilities, as a similar feature has been available in outlook on the web for quite some time.

And of course, it’s also available in Outlook for Windows.

“This capability has been among our most requested Outlook features! While it doesn’t offer true message recall, this feature instructs the app to delay sending the message for a set period of time, so you can cancel it if you change your mind. (Users of Outlook for the web may have already tried Undo Send on that platform; Gmail offers similar functionality),” Microsoft itself explains.

For now, there’s no ETA as to when the rollout to production devices will start, but this shouldn’t take too long anyway.
