Microsoft has already announced its new AI-powered Bing search engine and integration into Microsoft Edge, and now the company is moving forward to make these innovative features available on mobile as well.

Microsoft says no more, no less than 64 percent of the searches are now happening on mobile phones, and as such, the company had no other option than to bring the new Bing and Edge to smartphones.

The AI-powered experience is therefore making its way to Android and iPhone, and the chat that was announced with much fanfare a few weeks ago is live on mobile devices too.

“Available on iOS and Android today, the Bing mobile app offers a fresh look and experience. Tapping the Bing icon at the bottom will invoke a chat session, where you can engage in all the same ways you can from the desktop. Ask simple or complex questions and receive answers and citations. Choose how you want your answers displayed – bullet points, text or simplified responses. Explore the Bing chat experience to refine your query or compose an email, poem or list,” Microsoft says.

Additionally, the Bing mobile app is also getting voice input, so you can search using voice commands. Bing will then provide answers and search results, though they wouldn’t be spoken but displayed as typical results.

And last but not least, the new Bing experience is also getting integrated into Skype.

“Simply add Bing to the group, as you would any Skype contact, and now you can ask Bing to answer questions and provide information for the entire group. You can choose how you want your answers to be displayed – bullet points, text or a simplified response. Bing can accommodate your preferences. Fluent in more than 100 languages, and capable of translating between them, Bing can offer unique value to this global communications tool,” Microsoft explains.

The new Bing in Skype is already available in preview today.
