Beta version of SwiftKey updated with new features

Microsoft has just released a new round of updates for the Android version of SwiftKey, with both the beta and the stable versions getting new features.

First and foremost, the beta build of SwiftKey receives support for Android P emoji, as Microsoft wants to prepare its keyboard app for the release of the next Android version due later this year. Additionally, SwiftKey is also getting lots of improvements for Arabic languages, including support for more characters.

Microsoft is also making some grammar improvements in this beta build, and the company introduces direct image insertion for WeChat.

Stable version updates

The stable version of SwiftKey for Android has also been updated today, and this new release comes with a new Number display setting to let users choose between number row and number pad. This option is available under Typing & autocorrect > Keys.

Users running SwiftKey can now type in a series of new languages, like Edo, Inuktitut (Latin), Luo (Dholuo), Makassarese, & Oʼodham, and Microsoft has made some changes to the Thai language to use the Thai Kadmanee layout as default.

SwiftKey is currently one of the most popular keyboard apps on Android and iOS, and Microsoft continues improving it with new features every once in a while.

The beta build, however, is only recommended for users who want to test what’s new in the app, as otherwise, everyone should install the stable version. A beta release may contain bugs and other issues affecting the performance of app, but from my experience, major glitches only rarely show up in such updates.

You can download SwiftKey APK for Android from Softpedia right now – keep in mind that in order to try out the Android P emoji you have to get the beta build, otherwise all the other improvements are included in the stable version as well.
