14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has started shipping the Surface Go to customers who pre-ordered it, and by the looks of things, the device can also be purchased from the Microsoft Store right now with next-day delivery.
Surface Go is Microsoft’s most-recent 2-in-1 device that’s supposed to offer a more affordable alternative to customers aiming for the premium quality of a Surface model.
Specifically aimed at the education market, Surface Go is available from $399, while eligible students, parents, teachers, and military can get it for just $379.05.

Microsoft Surface Go comes with a 10-inch display, and in order to reduce the price, it employs cost-saving measures in several departments.
The most obvious is the hardware, as the Surface Go is by no means supposed to be a productivity workhorse, but only a simple product capable of carrying the essential tasks like browsing, emails, simple coding, and working with documents.
The device is powered by an Intel 4415Y processor and features either 4GB or 8GB RAM, depending on the configuration that you order. It can be purchased with 64GB or 128GB storage. A Surface Go Signature Type Cover and Surface Pen are sold separately, so you’ll have to spend extra for this must-have accessories.
At 522 grams, it is the lightest Surface ever released by Microsoft, and while for many it may be too small for being productive all day long, it’s important to always have in mind its purpose. Microsoft says the Surface Go can run for up to 9 hours per charge, though as everyone learned the hard way, battery life can vary depending on the active processes.
Surface Go arrives at the right time for Microsoft, as the company now has a refreshed device lineup ahead of the back-to-school season, while also completing a portfolio of products aimed at the education market and also including Windows 10 with S Mode.
