The second-generation Microsoft Band is already up for grabs, so the Redmond-based software giant is now trying to sell the first model as fast as possible to make room for the new version.

As a result, today the company has announced a new special price in the United Kingdom, which is pretty much the lowest the Band has ever received since its launch in November 2014.

The first-generation Microsoft Band costs only £69.99 in the United Kingdom, which is a £100.00 discount from the original price of £169.99. For Americans and Europeans, this means the Band can be yours for only $105 and €98, respectively, down from $255 and €235.

The discount is available for all Microsoft Band sizes, so hurry up to get the device while it’s still up for grabs in Microsoft’s online store.

Cross-platform compatibility, built-in GPS

While most people don’t see a reason to purchase the first Microsoft Band since the second is already on the market, this device is still a gem that can really come in handy when exercising or getting notifications on your wrist.

Microsoft Band offers cross-platform compatibility, so it works not only with Windows Phone (and soon Windows 10 Mobile) but also with Android and iOS thanks to Bluetooth support. It also comes with built-in GPS, which means that you can use it without a phone to record your tracks, but also with several other sensors, such as optical heart rate, accelerometer, gyrometer, ambient light, skin temperature, and UV.

The second-generation model, on the other hand, comes with a new curved screen that’s supposed to make the Band a little bit more comfortable, but also with a barometer to offer more accurate measurements for elevation.

The Band 2 is not yet available in the United Kingdom but will launch on November 19 with a price of £199.99 ($300 / €280).
