Microsoft’s Surface Book is unexpectedly successful, but it’s no secret that some of the early buyers have complained about a number of problems, including random BSODs and screen flickering issues mostly caused by bad drivers.

In a statement released this weekend, Microsoft apologized for all these bugs and promised to continue improving the experience with both the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4 with future updates.

“First, a big thanks to all of our customers for your open and candid feedback on Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. For those of you who’ve had a less-than-perfect experience, we’re sorry for any frustration this has caused. Please know that we’re reading your comments and hearing you loud and clear. Your input is incredibly valuable in helping us address your questions with timely updates and fixes,” Microsoft says in the statement posted on the company’s Community forums.

Updates already available

Several updates for the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4 have already been received, and Microsoft stresses that, while new bugs could still be experienced, it encourages users to file a report and send feedback to the company in order to resolve problems and improve performance.

“Since launch, we have aggressively pursued the most pressing feedback. We have already issued a number of updates via Windows Update and are working to issue additional updates and fixes as soon as possible to further improve the overall Surface experience. To ensure that you have received the most recent updates, we recommend you check out our support page with instructions on how to download and install the latest Surface and Windows updates,” the company continues.

Both the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4 were launched on October 6 while sales started later the same month. Both are currently going live in various markets across the world, so fixing all found problems to offer a better experience out of the box is critical to both Microsoft itself and customers.
