Microsoft has just announced a Microsoft Teams update on Android devices, and this time, the release is pretty significant, as it includes several new features that users are going to love.

First and foremost, beginning with this new update on Android smartphones, Microsoft Teams comes with Cortana integration.

As we’ve known for a while, Cortana is no longer a consumer-oriented feature, as the focus has pretty much moved to the enterprise. So Cortana going live in Microsoft Teams, a product that’s specifically aimed at companies, employees, and businesses, pretty much makes sense in the long term.

With Cortana in Microsoft Teams, users can send messages, make calls, and join meetings using nothing more than voice commands.

And second of all, Microsoft Teams now comes with improved support for video calls, as more videos on the same screen are now allowed. Microsoft Teams now supports 2x4 videos on phone and 3x3 videos on tablet, all after updating to this latest version.

Microsoft Teams adoption skyrocketing

As the world struggled with the global health issues and more people started working from home, the adoption of Microsoft Teams really skyrocketed, with the company revealing in April that the service reached 72 million daily active users.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, said that just two months generated the typical increase that Microsoft Teams previously recorded in two years, and it was all because of the en-masse transition to remote working.

At this point, Microsoft is working around the clock to make Teams the go-to solution for every company out there, although it goes without saying that more tech giants are investing in the same industry for obvious reasons. Microsoft, however, is now shipping updates for Teams at a much faster pace, not only on the desktop but on mobile too.
