Microsoft has recently released a major update for Sticky Notes on Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) and October 2018 Update (version 1809).

With this new batch of improvements, Sticky Notes reaches version 3.1, and it gets features that have been tested as part of the Windows Insider program.

Including a dark mode, that is, as this has been one of the most anticipated features for Sticky Notes.

“We tested the waters with the Charcoal Note, and you all seemed keen to go even darker!  Introducing full-on Dark Mode support in Sticky Notes. We support Windows Dark Mode as well as the ability to set your color mode in Sticky Notes to suit your mood independent of your system settings,” Microsoft explains.

Furthermore, Microsoft says it has added several other refinements under the hood, so the application should now be faster and more reliable, especially when it comes to syncing.

Sticky Notes on Android

Sticky Notes is improving at a rather fast pace, and more recently, the application expanded beyond the Windows ecosystem to become available on Android too.

With integration in Microsoft Launcher (beta), Sticky Notes can now sync notes to Android phones as long as the same Microsoft account is being used.

At the same time, Microsoft is bringing Sticky Notes to more apps, and more recently, notes have started showing up on OneNote.

You can update to the latest version of Sticky Notes right from the Microsoft Store, though keep in mind that the rollout takes place gradually and it could take a while until the new version shows up for you. Further improvements are expected in the coming weeks, especially as Microsoft seems to be focusing more and more on making Sticky Notes available on as many devices and platforms as possible.
