Microsoft has started testing this month’s update for the Office productivity suite, and insiders running the Mac version of the app are getting lots of goodies this time.

With this new release, Office for Mac is being pushed to version 16.13.180505, and all the changes that you see here are available right now for insiders in the Slow ring. Depending on the feedback and how testing goes, production users should get the update in the coming weeks as well.

First and foremost, Office for Mac now comes with LinkedIn integration, with a Resume Assistant helping you to create a resume without leaving Word. You can fill in work experiences, top skills, and more information from your profile by clicking the Resume Assistant in the Review tab.

Word is also getting more accessibility features with keyboard support to access the ribbon quickly and format inserted words and pictures.

Chat with co-authors

Excel is being updated with PivotTable filters, which lets you analyze data on years, quarters, months, or days, while Outlook receives two different improvements, namely a swipe gestures to control emails and support for Google Calendar and Contacts.

Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are being updated with support for chats right within the apps, making it easier for users to get in touch with co-authors. And additionally, all three apps receive icons that can be added in documents, worksheets, and presentations. There are more than 500 icons available in this update, Microsoft says.

While these improvements are currently available for insiders, they should start rolling out to subscribers in the coming weeks, though this obviously depends on how testing goes.

Several features are already offered as part of Office for Windows, like support for LinkedIn, but without a doubt, bringing them on Mac systems certainly comes in handy to those who want to remain productive on an Apple device.
