Microsoft is working around the clock on improving the experience with OneDrive on all fronts, and the most recent update the company announced concerns the photo editing feature on the web.

More specifically, Microsoft is making it easier for users to edit images in OneDrive on the web, as they are now provided with additional controls to work with their photos.

“Today we’re excited to announce new photo editing features in OneDrive on the web that will enable you to crop photos, adjust light and color, add creative filters, and mark up photos for editing, all in one place, so you can quickly add them to presentations, share them on social media, or use in meetings to enhance discussions about product development or marketing,” the company announced.

One of the new features allows users to add filters and choose from a wide variety of pre-defined settings, including black and white and a warm tone for a vintage style.

Available for everybody today

In addition, users can now easily crop their images right from OneDrive on the web.

“When you want to focus on a specific part of a larger image, you can easily use the Crop feature to trim out the parts you don’t need. You can crop your photos manually to get the exact effect you want. You can also use preset aspect ratios to crop images to standard sizes for social media, helping you share images and stories more in the moment, or enhance your landing pages with new profile images or banners,” Microsoft explained.

Needless to say, this means that you can do basic editing on your images without the need for a dedicated app. Microsoft says the new features are now available for everybody using OneDrive on the web, so you can give them a try right now if you want to see what’s new.
