Microsoft has announced tons of new features for the Windows 10 game bar as the company continues improving the gaming experience on its operating system.

The game bar, which you can fire up by pressing the Windows key + G, now comes with support for Spotify, so you can control music playback without even leaving your game.

All you have to do is press the Windows key + G to launch the game bar, click Spotify in the widgets menu, and then sign in with your credentials. You can fully control playback by adjusting volume or going to the next song.

An audio widget is also available for further options, allowing you to change volume settings of the apps running on your system without having to press the Alt + Tab keyboard shortcut and quit the game.

This new update also brings options to Windows 10 users that power the creation of memes using nothing more than the game bar. Basically, what this feature allows you to do is take a screenshot of a game, add a caption, and then publish it directly to Twitter using integration with the social network.

New social features

And because the social capabilities are enhanced in this update, you’re also getting a refined Xbox Social widget with info on what your friends are playing. You can text friends or start a voice call, or just watch their Mixer stream.

Everything in this overhauled game bar is fully customizable, so you can adjust its look and settings based on the features that you consider to be the most useful.

“You told us that the ability to customize your experience was extremely important. You can now customize Game bar to make the overlay your own. Choose which widgets to show/hide, where you want them located, and even pin specific widgets. Find your own favorite Game bar layout to enhance your gaming experience,” Microsoft explains.

A beta version of the game bar is available today via the Xbox Insider Hub on Windows 10, and the public launch should take place later this year.
