Microsoft has just announced a makeover of the OneNote app on Android, with a completely new Home tab that makes everything a lot more straightforward.

More specifically, Microsoft’s main goal was to make OneNote easier to use, especially when it comes to bringing together multiple accounts in a single view.

This is the purpose of the new Home tab.

“The Home page displays your recent notes from all your signed-in accounts in a single unified view. You can tap on a note card to view or edit the note or long press on it to take a quick action. You can switch between Grid view to see more notes at the same time) and List view (to see more detail on each note card) to select your preferred view,” Microsoft explains.

New update now rolling out

Furthermore, Microsoft has also focused on gestures, while also introducing a new capture bar whose purpose is to provide easy access to Lens integration and voice dictation.

“You can now use intuitive gestures within the OneNote mobile app to do more. Swipe down to sync your notes and long press the note cards to take quick actions, such as deleting, moving, copying, sharing, or adding notes to your mobile device's home screen,” Microsoft explains.

And last but not least, OneNote for Android is getting a new sign-in experience, with Microsoft explaining that it wanted to make the whole process a lot more convenient and straightforward.

The new update is now rolling out to users on Android, with Microsoft explaining it’s using a phased rollout to devices out there. The other platforms will also get the update soon.

“These features are currently being rolled out in stages on Android mobile build 16.0.15128.20270 and later (not available on tablets or dual-screen phones). We are working on bringing these features to the OneNote app across our platforms soon,” Microsoft says.
