A brand new chapter starts for Master Chief

Microsoft revealed at E3 the upcoming Halo Infinite, a new adventure from 343 Industries featuring the iconic Master Chief.

In case you don’t remember, 343 Industries is the studio that worked on a number of Halo games until now, including Halo 4, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo: Spartan Strike, Halo 5: Guardians, and Halo Wars 2. If anything, they are the perfect choice to continue the legacy of Master Chief.

To be fair, Halo is also one of the most profitable and well-known franchises Microsoft owns in the gaming industry, and it would be a shame if they didn’t continue with it. On the other hand, the community might have a hard time getting used to a new hero, and that’s probably one of the reasons why the Master Chief keeps returning.

Keeping it a secret

Even if we now have a trailer for the upcoming Halo Infinite, we still don’t know all that much about it. The entire trailer was put together using in-engine footage, and that only goes to show the studio’s confidence in the Slipspace Engine.

Although, from time to time, the frame rate during some of the more complex scenes dropped significantly. The game is still in development, and it might not be a problem in the end, but it could also mean that Halo Infinite is pushing the Xbox One console to its limits.

According to a report from Halo Waypoint, players will get to spend much more time in the shoes of Master Chief, and it’s safe to say that the game is center around his character.

Unlike previous releases in the Halo franchise, Infinite will be made available for PC and Xbox One. Until now, major Halo releases were used to promote the Xbox platform, but that seems to have changed. No release date has been advanced.
