Microsoft has announced a major discount for the Alcatel IDOL 4S, the latest (and possibly, the last) Windows 10 Mobile phone on the market: the device costs only $199 unlocked, down from $470 – a price cut of no less than $271!
Microsoft hasn’t said a single thing about a limited-time offer or anything like that, but if you do want to grab the IDOL 4S, you better hurry up because there’s a chance the offer is valid while supplies last
What’s important to know is that the device comes unlocked, so you can use it in pretty much any network. For $199 you also get the VR goggles and 64GB storage, which you can further expand with a microSD card.
Alcatel IDOL 4S
As we’ve told you in our review published after the launch of the device, the Alcatel IDOL 4S is quite a powerful phone, though its capabilities have been substantially limited by Windows 10 Mobile.
In terms of specs, it comes with a Snapdragon 820 chip, which at the time of launch was the top mobile processor from Qualcomm, 4GB RAM, 5.5-inch full HD display, 21-megapixel camera with dual-tone flash, a headphone jack, and 3,000 mAh battery.
The VR goggles that are offered as part of the package aren’t really something you should be excited about because the content that’s available in the Alcatel store is incredibly limited and the company doesn’t seem to be too keen on adding more videos, games, and apps anytime soon.
But for $199, it still remains one super-deal that you shouldn’t miss if you’re committed to Windows 10 Mobile, though right now, it’s hard to believe that too many people would spend a couple hundred bucks on something that not even Microsoft seems to love these days.
