Survey also finds more than half of Microsoft employees don’t think there are compensated fairly for their work

Tech companies the likes of Google, Microsoft, and Apple, are often considered to be some of the best places to work, but a recent survey conducted by anonymous employee chat app Blind reveals some fairly unexpected statistics.

The company asked its users to answer a series of questions regarding their jobs and the salaries they receive for their work, trying to determine which are the companies where workers aren’t satisfied with their compensations.

And as it turns out, employees at Netflix, Dropbox, and Facebook are the most satisfied with their salaries, while more than half of those working for Apple and Microsoft think should get more money for their jobs.

In terms of employees who are interested in leaving the company, Groupon leads the charts, with more than 70 percent of Microsoft workers saying they are considering changing the job or the firm.

Working at Netflix, a dream job

When analyzing the top 10 tech companies, Microsoft clearly has the lead when it comes to staff considering a switch, followed by Amazon, Apple, and Google, each of them with more than 50 percent of workers saying they are at least interested in a different job. Fewer than 30 percent of the respondents working for Netflix said they’re looking for another job, and this makes total sense given that most of them believe they’re being compensated fairly for their work.

It goes without saying that this study doesn’t reflect the opinion of all workers, but only of a small share that runs the Blind app. There’s a big chance that those turning to an anonymous employee chat app aren’t very pleased with their jobs, though statistics of companies like Netflix and Dropbox show this isn’t particularly valid for all companies.

For what it’s worth, Glassdoor data shows that a senior software engineer makes $210,000 a year, so it’s not too hard to understand how come they are so pleased with their jobs.
