Widgets can now be expanded to use more of the screen

The new widgets experience available in Windows 11 is constantly evolving, and the most recent build released by Microsoft for users in the Dev channel comes with additional improvements on this front.

Microsoft is now working on an expanded view for widgets, and its purpose is as simple as it could be: the widgets board is expanded in such a way that more information is displayed on the screen.

“Use the expand and collapse button in the top right corner of the board, next to the add widgets button, to expand or collapse the size of your widgets board. The size of your board is remembered, so if you prefer your widgets board to always show you more content and leave it expanded then that’s how it will be the next time you open it,” Microsoft explains.

Updates for the Game Pass widget

At the same time, the Game Pass widget that was introduced last month is now getting additional capabilities that allow users to sign-in with their Xbox profile.

“If you have already signed into your Xbox app on PC, the Game Pass widget will be signed-in with your Xbox account. Once signed-in, the widget will show the full range of Game Pass games available to you. Additionally, the widget will also show the most recent set of PC Game Pass titles you have played. It gives gamers a quick way to get right back into the action,” the software giant explains.

Both the new expanded view for widgets and the Game Pass update are going live in stages for insiders out there, so not all testers will get the chance to try them out right now. However, the rollout will gain more pace as the company analyzes the feedback it receives on the current versions.
