Microsoft is working on all kinds of improvements for Windows 11, and most recently, the company announced a refreshed version of the famous Task Manager.

The visual makeover allows Task Manager to align with the rest of Windows 11, therefore getting a more modern look and a dark mode, but by the looks of things, Microsoft is also working on more aesthetic improvements for this part of the operating system.

In the latest Windows Insider podcast, Microsoft has teased a pink version of the Task Manager, and as Neowin notes, this is thanks to the app now following Windows 11 accent colors.

In other words, the accent color you enable for Windows 11, and which can be seen in various parts of the operating system, including on the taskbar, is now making its way to the Task Manager as well.

Of course, it’s not yet clear when Microsoft plans to release this updated Task Manager to users, but for now, there’s a chance the company would continue working on it to make sure everything is flawless. Needless to say, insiders will be the first to try it out.

The Task Manager redesign

In Windows 11, in addition to the dark mode, the Task Manager is also getting a new efficiency mode, therefore providing more useful information to users.

“Last April, we experimented with a new feature called “Eco mode” in Task Manager and we’re bringing this back with a new brand name: Efficiency mode. This feature is helpful when you notice an app consuming high resources and would like to limit its consumption so that the system gives priority to other apps which will lead to faster foreground responsiveness and better energy efficiency,” the Redmond-based software giant announced when it rolled out build 22557 in the Insider program.
