14 DAY TRIAL // Indian company Micromax is back with yet another affordable Android smartphone, the Canvas Pulse 4G. The new smartphone will be available for purchase in India exclusively from major retailer Flipkart.
According to a new report, customers will have to come up with Rs 9,999 ($150 / €135) upfront to grab the Canvas Pulse 4G. The smartphone is available starting today in black color.
Even though it's been priced under $200, Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G packs some above average specs that will make it stand out from other mid-range Android smartphones.
For example, the smartphone comes equipped with a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.
Also, Canvas Pulse 4G packs 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
There's also a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. At the front, Micromax's mid-range handset packs a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.
Dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity features are available, too
The Canvas Pulse 4G sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. The phone is powered by a 2,100 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
Micromax confirmed that the Canvas Pulse 4G would ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but there's no mention of Marshmallow.
As the name suggests, the smartphone comes with 4G LTE support, but also offers dual-SIM with dual standby mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio and microUSB 2.0 connectivity.
