Indian handset maker Micromax has just released yet another affordable Android smartphone, which is already available for purchase at various retailers across the country.

The Canvas Juice 3 is the sequel to Juice 2, which made it to India back in March. The new device comes with improved specs and a decent price.

According to a new report, Micromax Canvas Juice 3 is now available for purchase for just Rs 8,999 outright, which is about $135 or €120.

For the time being, the Canvas Juice 3 has been confirmed for sale in Silver color only, but additional color options might be available soon.

The good news is the smartphone comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. It also features Google services and apps, including Drive, Hangouts and voice search.

Huge 4,000 mAh battery and decent display

When it comes to hardware, the Canvas Juice 3 doesn't impress much, but at that price it does pack decent specs.

For example, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory only. Fortunately, Micromax added a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the back, Canvas Juice 3 features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with OmniVision OV8865 sensor, Largan lens, autofocus, LED flash and video recording. In the front, there's a modest 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Even though the smartphone does not support 4G connectivity, at least users will be able to take advantage of 3G HSPA+ support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.

Also, the Canvas Juice 3 sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Last but not least, Micromax Canvas Juice 3 has been confirmed to pack a huge 4,000 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 14 hours of talk time or up to 21 days of standby time.
