The new patch seems to make thing even worse on Xbox One

A brand-new update has just been released for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on the Xbox One console, and it seems that the stuttering problem is still a major issue for owners of the game on Microsoft's device.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launched at the beginning of the month across PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. While the title had a pretty smooth debut across most platforms, fans still encountered some bigger or smaller issues.

Fortunately, Konami has reacted pretty quickly in regards to most issues, such as the Quiet save game corruption problem, which had big consequences across all platforms, and several updates have been rolled out for the game.

A new Xbox One update for the game seems to make stuttering worse

However, for Xbox One users it seems that the game is still borderline unplayable. The game exhibited a fair amount of stuttering and freezes as standard on the console and after the latest update, which clocked in at over 500MB, things have gotten much worse.

According to reports from Xbox One users on Reddit, the freezes and stuttering have gotten even worse after installing the patch, resulting in failed missions or stupid deaths for main protagonist Big Boss.

"It happened 3 times in a minute for me yesterday (of course, while I was in the center of the camp I was infiltrating). I'm strongly considering selling/trading with a friend until much later when hopefully some of these things are fixed. The craziest part is that I never experienced it until this latest update," one user complained.

As of yet, Konami hasn't commented on these worsened problems on the Xbox One version of The Phantom Pain, so it's unclear if another patch is underway or when exactly it might appear.

As such, until this major issue gets resolved, it's probably for the best if Xbox One users enjoy other games instead of The Phantom Pain.
