Konami has just revealed the actual performance figures for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, confirming that, just like Ground Zeroes, the new title runs at a 1080p resolution on the PS4, while the Xbox One version reaches just 900p. Meanwhile, last-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 editions reach 720p, and the PC is capable of up to 4K resolution.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is getting ready for its debut right at the beginning of September, and Konami has shared more and more details about the new tactical third-person shooter experience, as well as plenty of videos and screenshots.

Now, just like with its prologue, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the Japanese company has posted a full suite of performance details about The Phantom Pain on its website, alongside some comparison screenshots that drive the point home concerning the quality levels of the new game across its different platforms.

PS4 reigns supreme in terms of console performance

First up, in terms of consoles, The Phantom Pain runs at a 720p resolution and a 30fps framerate on the old PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

On newer devices, the upcoming game runs at 900p resolution and 60fps framerate on the Xbox One, and 1080p alongside 60fps on the PS4.

The PC platform reigns supreme as it can reach a 4K resolution, although the framerate seems to be capped at 60fps. It's unclear if Konami will allow fans to reach a higher fps number as standard.

The comparison screenshots show interesting situations

A suite of comparison screenshots have also been revealed by Konami, pitting against each other the PS4 and PS3 versions, the Xbox One and Xbox 360 editions, as well as the PC and PS4 builds of the new game.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches across all platforms on September 1, worldwide. The Metal Gear Online multiplayer mode is expected to go live at a later point in time.
