We reported in early November that the mid-range LG Class would be launched in Europe as LG Zero. Today, the South Korean company officially announced the new smartphone and where exactly the device would be made available for purchase.

According to LG, the metal-clad smartphone will be launched in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, but the list of countries where customers will be able to purchase the Zero is not available yet.

“At LG, we do not believe in limiting our best technology to just our flagship devices. The LG Zero exhibits innovation not only in its design but in its ability to offer premium features at a competitive price point,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

As mentioned in our earlier report, the slim metal smartphone costs €300 outright in some European countries, but LG mentions that specifications and price may vary depending on the market.

Also, the smartphone will be launched as LG Class in Germany, Korea, Russia, and Singapore, while the rest of the world will be getting the device as LG Zero.

It comes in both silver and gold colors

Moving on to specs, LG Zero is a pure mid-range smartphone that runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. Its selling point is the solid aluminum body, which is supposed to give it a premium look and feel.

Under the hood, LG Zero employs the services of a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which is complemented by 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Keep in mind that some versions of the LG Zero (like the Korean model) comes with 2GB RAM inside instead of just 1.5GB RAM.

Also, LG Zero sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. The phone is powered by a 2,050 mAh battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and GPS with AGPS support.
