14 DAY TRIAL // Apple is one of the top smartphone manufacturers on the market, but in order to experience iOS, users must purchase a handset from the Cupertino-based giant. Android, on the other hand, is not subject to the same limitation, with a Chinese company having just recently released a case that can run Android OS on Apple iPhones.
Haimawan is a Chinese subsidiary of Jijia company, specializing in mobile operation system virtualization products and technology, and it has recently released the MESUIT case in Beijing, which allows users to run Android OS on iPhones in the form of an app.
MESUIT supports one-key hot swapping and enables users to have both iOS and Android OS run simultaneously on their iPhones. The case connects to the device's Lightning port, and it requires users to run an app on the iPhone so that they can take advantage of Android applications on their Apple-branded phone.
MESUIT comes with a processor, RAM, storage, and built-in battery
The case has its own processor, storage, memory, and even SIM card slot. Android OS runs on the case while iOS runs on the smartphone, and the two operating systems only share a display and touchscreen.
The built-in battery and storage are also shared with iOS. MESUIT comes in two sizes: there's a version for the iPhone 6 and 6s, with a 1,700mAh battery, as well as a larger iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus model with a 2,500mAh battery.
Both variants pack MediaTek MT6753 processors coupled with 2GB of RAM and 802.11b/g/n WiFi. MESUIT cases also support Bluetooth 4.0 and provide three internal storage options, one with 32GB, the second with 64GB, and the third with 128GB.
The MESUIT case is available on the company's website and on JD.com for prices starting $150.
A few months ago, we reported on another DIY case that allowed users to run Android OS on an iPhone, but that model required some effort and wasn't offered as a product like MESUIT.
